Feb Half Term Writing Club @ Forest Hill Library

Looking for a fun, creative winter activity for your 8–13-year-old? In this 5-day writing camp, kids will work with teacher, and writer Anna Dempsey to create one awesome story while learning how to build exciting plots, characters, and dialogue. And since the weather’s getting chilly, we’ll be focusing on “frosty tales” aka chill mysteries or chill snow filled adventures. Think hot cocoa, a warm blanket and a great story!

Day 1: Find Your Story & create a map/plan
Day 2: Characters We Root For and Plot, Plot, Plot
Day 3: Dun, Dun, Dun--The Big Incident!
Day 4: Snappy, Silly Dialogue and Voice
Day 5: Finishing Touches, Performances & Author Celebration 

Each day includes guided lessons, writing time, group sharing to practice delievery, and feedback. By the end, they'll have a finished story and personalised feedback to help improve their craft.

Whether they are new to writing or already a word wizard, this camp is for anyone who loves stories and wants to write their own.

Materials are included, all you need to bring is a snack & water bottle!
