Tuesday Creative Writing Workshop: Five Weeks of Summer

Join me, Anna Dempsey, for five Tuesdays of guided fiction writing with, sharing words in a tender, supportive community. 

This course is perfect for writers of any stage who want to explore their voice, try new ideas, finish a writing project or connect with fellow creatives in a relaxed/kind environment. Each week we will focus on different elements of short story/novel writing including plot, dialogue, character, setting and pacing. 

Our theme is Endless Summer and we'll gather inspiration from summery short stories, novels seeped in heat, The Beach Boys and my favourite cult class, Now and Then. Even if London gives us a grey summer we will fictionally take ourselves to the beach, to the lake or summer camp. 

These 5 Weeks are a great time to start a new short story, novel or dive back into some old idea notebooks. 

When: Tuesdays, 6.30-8.30, Dates: 7 July, 14 July, *writing week*, 28 July, 4 August, 11 August 

Where: Nūs Nūs Coffee Shop (we will have the whole place to ourselves!)

What to Expect:

• Guided writing exercises each week, handouts (I love handouts so much) and optional writing homework

• Opportunities to share your work out loud with a welcoming group

• Cookies, tea and juice will be for sale throughout the evening

• A chance to be part of a creative community (yay local friends)

• Maximum of eight writers to ensure focus & attention on your words

• Each week, two writers will share up to 2,500 words and receive thoughtful feedback from me and the group
