October half-term is around the corner and it's the BEST time of year for spooky stories...or silly ones! Join teacher and writer Anna Dempsey for a 5-day writing camp to create one amazing story while learning how to build exciting plots, bring to life believable characters, write (and puncuate) quick dialogue, and use literary tricks that keep readers hooked.
Camp hours are 10-3pm, Monday to Friday. Please note that Wednesday is a shorter day, running from 10-12.45pm.
Day 1: Find Your Story & SHAMPOO (aka literary devices)
Day 2: Characters We Root For and Plot, Plot, Plot
Day 3: Dun, Dun, Dun--The Big Incident!
Day 4: Snappy, Silly Dialogue and Voice
Day 5: Finishing Touches & Author Party
Each day includes guided lessons, writing time, sharing, feedback with breaks provided! We always have a long lunch with games and time outside in the library garden (weather permitting). By the end of the week your young writer will have a finished story and gain new confidence as well as friends.
Whether you young creative is new to writing or already a word wizard already, this camp is for anyone who loves stories and wants to write their own.
Materials are included, all they need to bring is a snack, packed lunch and water bottle!
