Description
Music starts at 7:15pm.
We are proud to be presenting this very special intimate show performing a suite of new music from the upcoming third Kennebec record, which will all be filmed & recorded live. The night will be opened by our cellist’s new amazing genre bending chamber-folk group, Freeway Hawk (who are recording their first album this summer.)
We hope to see you there, and that we can all make it one for the ages.
Kennebec
Kennebec is the musical outlet of Eric Phillips, a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist living in Portland, Oregon. He draws from an eclectic array of influences from folk, chamber music, ambient electronic music, hip-hop, jazz and soundtracks to create his own unique blend of cinematic instrumental music.
His second album album ‘Without Star or Compass’ released October 2022 with guest features from Sudan Archives, Samuel T. Herring (of Future Islands,) Hemlock Ernst (Sam’s rap alter ego,) British-Bahraini trumpeter Yazz Ahmed and Kalaido. Since, the project has expanded into a collaborative live group opening for acts as diverse as Arooj Aftab, Kevin Morby & Joep Beving.
In addition to Kennebec, Eric has enjoyed working on & composing the music for numerous feature films, documentaries and games (including writing for the Obama’s recent Netflix series and assisting on The Holdovers.) He aspires to incorporate this sense of cinematic immersion into his own music and performances.
Freeway Hawk is a genre-bending new ensemble coming out of Portland, OR. The group blurs the line between classical, folk and rock. Each member brings their own virtuosic flair into a live show that is completely it’s own.
