A Productivity Crisis in Law: Practical ways to work smarter
Wed 5 Mar 2025 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The Ashworth Centre, Lincoln's Inn and Online, WC2A 3QB
Description
Join us on Wednesday 5 March with speaker Alex Harding, a barrister and Head of Claims at a transactional risk advisory firm, to discuss productivity in the legal profession and the future impact of Artificial Intelligence.
Discussion topics will include:
- How modern legal practice has come to be dominated by constant connectivity and certain ‘shallow’ skills
- Why many of these developments in working practice were unintended and not optimally productive
- How the technological advancements of computing and AI may soon render some of these skills valueless
- Why lawyers need to rediscover uninterrupted ‘Deep Work’ and the value of daily routine to produce high-quality work, which is not easily replicable
The talk will also include practical tips on how to create working systems to improve daily productivity. Each attendee will also receive a short briefing note after the talk providing a step-by-step guide on how to implement the practical tips that are discussed.
