This course covers botanical support for the full emotional landscape of family life — anxiety, burnout, grief, loss, postpartum mood, and childhood behavioral challenges. Nervines and adaptogens are among the most-requested topics in family herbalism, and among the most consistently underserved in herbal education.
What This Course Covers
This course covers the primary nervines and adaptogens used in family practice, with practical guidance on matching the right herb to the right situation.
Topics include:
- Nervines and adaptogens: what they are, how they work, and when to use each
- Anxiety and stress across age groups
- Burnout: recognizing it and addressing it botanically
- Grief and loss: realistic expectations for what plant medicine can and cannot do
- Postpartum mood: support and when to refer
- Childhood behavioral challenges: herbs, scope of practice, and family context
- Drug interactions specific to psychiatric medications
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone supporting the emotional health of a family — their own or others'. No clinical background required. Parents, caregivers, herbalists, doulas, and wellness practitioners will all find practical application here.
No prerequisites required. No prerequisites required. Completing Herbal Safety, Dosing & Drug Interactions first is strongly recommended.
What You'll Be Able to Do
