In this ceremony we will make an alter to our ancestors and share stories, give thanks for their contribution to our lives, meditate, reflect on the year, journal and contemplate what we need to let go of with a fire ceremony.

It is said that at this special time of Samhain the veil that separates the worlds is at its thinnest. So our world, the world of Faerie, and that of the dead, blend as one. It marks the darkening and shortening of our days, and our collective descent towards the shortest day of the year. To me, it’s a pretty magical time. A time for remembering my ancestors, and a time for remembering the regenerative power – and absolute necessity – of rest.

At Samhain, I enjoy making and taking the time to remember my ancestors and loved ones who have passed. Remembering might take the form of a few candles, a moment to pause, perhaps digging out some photographs, sharing stories, smiling with memories or an offering.

To honour this day, creating an altar to your loved ones who have passed can bring both much needed warmth and fond memories of those who no longer walk on this side of the veil. An ancestor altar can be dedicated to friends, family or beloved pets. It's important to remember your ancestors during this time. Sing their favourite songs, and tell stories that live close to your heart.

Samhain teaches us how to recognise what must die and what must live in our lives. It can bring some tough realisations but its transformative energy gives us the opportunity to live a more authentic life.

Book your space and more details about where to go and what to bring will be sent by e-mail.
