About The Hunter Exam:

The Hunter Exam is an intense physical and mental challenge designed by the Hunters Association to determine what it takes to become a professional Hunter. This highly selective test eliminates participants in each phase until only 1% remain.

The Inaugural Exam (March 2025):

The inaugural Hunter Exam was held on March 29th 2025, resulting in our first class of 9 Pro Hunters. Over 1,000 participants competed in 5 unique phases, testing both their physical and mental acuity. Due to overwhelming demand after the first event, The Hunters Association is proud to announce that we will be holding the 2nd ever Hunter Exam on October 11th in New York.

The New York 2025 Hunter Exam (October 11th, 2025)

Location: 280 Malden Turnpike, Saugerties, NY 12477

Time: 8am - 5:30pm

Exam Format: 5 phases. 50% to 70% are eliminated in each phase.

Phase 1: Endurance

In this phase you must complete a grueling endurance race where both the total distance and cutoff threshold are unknown. 

Statistics from the 1st Hunter Exam: 

• 700 started the run; 350 passed; 50% pass rate
• 7.3 mile cross country run. The cutoff time was around a 10 min / mile pace.
  

Phase 2: Market

This phase simulates a market economy, where participants must barter with others to collect the resources required to advance to Phase 3. It is a free-for-all negotiation.

This is an original phase not seen in the 1st exam.

Phase 3: Assassin

In Phase 3 you will enter a dense 50 acre forest, where you must either hunt down other participants or successfully track down Pro Hunters from the 1st Hunter Exam.   

It has the same name, but it is not the same game. This is very different from the Assassin phase we saw in the 1st Hunter Exam.

Phase 4: Enigma

We will share no details about this phase.

Phase 5: 1 on 1s

The final test. Participants must defeat their opponent in a game of strength, intelligence, and skill to become a Pro Hunter.

Other Exam Details:

Age limit: There is no age limit.

Food and Drink: We will have food and drink available for purchase throughout the entire event. Alcohol is available.

After Party: There will be an after party at Oz Farm itself. No additional purchase is necessary.

Parking: Parking is available on site with the purchase of a parking pass.

Spectators: spectator passes can be purchased.

Live Stream: Like last time, we will be live streaming the entire event to Twitch.

About The Hunters Association

The Hunters Association is the official licensing body for professional Hunters, certified through the Hunter Exam. Upon passing, Pro Hunters receive a physical Pro Hunter License, access to a private Pro Hunter Portal, and eligibility for real-life missions.

The Hunter Registry

The Hunters Association maintains a complete registry of all Hunters, not just Pro Hunters. The registry is divided into classes: E Class through A Class, and finally, Pro Hunter. A Hunter's class is determined by aura output — the more aura, the higher the class. Hunters can increase their aura by performing well in Hunter Exams.
