B3-FOUR has been performing together for over 10 years.
Lary Streaty, Hammond B-3 artist is from Indianapolis, home of a multitude of jazz and blues artists came ot San Diego in 2002. As a child, he was exposed to such jazz greats as Stanley Turrentine and Jack
McDuff, and from those experiences, his love of music was born. He started playing drums at 14 and played with several groups, notably touring with The Vci Cook Trio. He took up keyboards many years later and now exclusively plays the Hammond B-3. eH formed the B3-4 soon after arriving here, and within a short time, he was able to bring in the permanent members of the group.
Earl Vaults, well known tenor saxophonist, is a native San Diegan, He toured with Ike Turner (of the Ike and Tina Turner Review) and has a CD out titled I Told You So. Earl has been appearing in the San Diego area al of his life and is known for his lively performances, in which his sax becomes another player.
Michael Evans, drummer/percussionist is also a native San Diegan, and brother of noted musician Carl Evans. He recorded with San Diego vocalists Barbara Jamerson and Ella Ruth Piggee, Mike's proficiency and unique approach keeps the beat going and the rhythm rocking.
Ignacio Arango a native of Cuba, is considered one of the most tasteful solo guitarists in San Diego with hte ability to play many styles of music His artful sound is influenced by his Latin roots and his musical family, His siblings in Cuba are also lifelong musicians.
In addition to a host of gigs up and down the coast, B3-4 has appeared at The Ocean beach Jazz Festival, and regularly at KSDS Jazz 88.3 Happy Hours at the Park Manor and Lafayette Hotels, Seaport Village East Plaza Gazebo, Gentlemens' Gourmet, Hollywood Bar & Grill and many others.
This lively group does classics which take jazz lovers on a delightful trip down memory lane, and rocks the house with tunes that get folks up and moving.
