The Joy of Mahjong's "Get Your Mahj On" Event

We Are So Excited to Welcome You to an afternoon of Community Fun!

Join us for our very first “Get Your Mahj On” Event ~ an experience designed to introduce new players to the game,  while bringing together those who already love it.

Mahjong has long been a beautiful tradition shared among mothers, grandmothers, and friends gathered around the table. This event celebrates that legacy while creating space for a new generation of players to learn, laugh, and connect.

Whether you have never touched a tile before or you already know your way around the the game,  you are guaranteed to find a welcoming seat at the table.

What to Expect

This event is designed as a fun and relaxing learning opportunity where guests can enjoy the social spirit of Mahjong while gaining confidence in the game.

What's Included

Your ticket includes an exciting 4½-hour experience!

• Mahjong instruction with a team of teachers
• All materials provided (tiles, racks, dice, and game supplies)
• Open play tables for those who already know the game
• Mahjong-themed refreshments
• Prizes and giveaways
• A take-home Mahjong 101 guide to help you keep playing

Tickets

$45 per person ( plus a $2.75 processing fee charged by the ticket agency. )

Tickets are non-refundable.

During the checkout process, you will be asked if there is anyone you would like to be seated with. As you can imagine, creating a seating plan for a large event can be challenging, so please be gentle with us. 

Seating is limited to ensure everyone has space to learn comfortably and enjoy the experience.  A wait list will automatically be populated once we reach 60 participants. 

Our Vision

The Joy of Mahjong is more than a single event.  It is the beginning of a Mahjong Circle, where players can continue gathering, learning, and enjoying the game together.

Please bring your own drink in a sealed bottle or tumbler to keep the tiles and the cards dry. 

IMPORTANT:

Each player must order and BRING their own 2026 National Mahjong (Rule) Card.  Standard cards are $14  and the LARGE cards are $16. There are many copy cat cards with errors, so please be sure your card comes from the OFFICIAL web site.   The website to order the CORRECT card is: nationalmahjonggleague.org
