The Judgement Hall Festival returns this April for three days of site-specific performance across sound, movement, and cinema. Presented as a once-yearly gathering, the festival brings together artists whose work is shaped by architecture, duration, and attention
This year’s programme deepens the festival’s curatorial focus through close collaboration with artists working at the forefront of experimental sound, choreography, and film. Each performance is developed in direct response to its setting, resulting in works that exist only within the conditions of this edition.
Across two sites — St Barnabas and Rio Cinema — the festival unfolds as a sequence of distinct encounters. At St Barnabas, artists engage directly with the building’s scale and acoustics, transforming the space anew with each performance. At Rio Cinema, film and sound converge through special presentations and commissioned live scores, experienced through focused, seated listening
