The 2026 Women of Distinction 

The Kerr County Lead will honor 22 women and three community organizations who make a difference in our community. 

The Kerr County Lead will honor 25 women and three groups at its inaugural Women of Distinction event June 19 at Tucker Hall, recognizing community leaders whose work spans law enforcement, nonprofit leadership, public service, business, education, and flood recovery.

The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kerr County Lead founder Louis Amestoy said the selection process was both rewarding and humbling.

"It was incredibly hard to determine how to honor so many deserving women, and the exercise showed how many incredibly hard women are working to make this a special place," Amestoy said. "One of the things that really guided us was length of service and how these women helped us navigate the flood. The hardest part is we left people out, but we're encouraged that we will have a never-ending pool of qualified candidates in the years to come. We look forward to making this an annual event."
