Canta: Festival de la canción en español 

Come hear residents of Hamilton County and its surroundings, who will sing original songs or covers in Spanish on Friday September 6, 2024 in the UC Auditorium on the UTC campus, from 5 to 8 p.m.  . Finalists will be selected and will then present their song at Fiestaval: A Taste of Latin America on October 5th in downtown Chattanooga in Miller Park. 
We invite the public to come to support us, enjoy the music and help us to select the finalists.  Parking is free from 5 p.m. in the parking lot at 701 Vine Street (Lots 10 or 12).
This event is sponsored by the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures (MCLL) of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, River City Company and and Fiestaval: A Taste of Latin America.  Our goal is to promote the use of Spanish among young people, while also encouraging Spanish speakers to actively participate in the arts. We also want to invite more community members to become familiar with the UTC campus and our opportunities for Spanish speakers.

We have a maximum seating capacity of 300 in the UC auditorium, so reserve your ticket now to make sure you have a spot!
