The Wild Table: Chapter Four

A Woodland Restaurant by The Laundry and Browning Bros.
Browning Bros. Tey Brook Orchard, Essex | 17th-20th September 2026

Following three sold-out events, The Wild Table is returning for its fourth and final chapter of 2026. Stillness is the final rhythm of the year, the transition where summer’s high energy moves into the final harvest. The Laundry and Browning Bros. are once again transforming Tey Brook Orchard into a woodland restaurant for one final magical weekend - a visceral invitation to enter the season's gentle unwinding and bear witness to the harvest that brings the flavour.

Included in Conde Nast Traveller - The best wild kitchen experiences across the UK

Join us for an unforgettable sensory journey where fire, flavour, and nature converge. This September, the menu will be a bold expression of the season’s abundance: rich, deep flavours and heirloom produce, all kissed by the open flame. Our harvest finale is proudly supported by our fire-cooking partners, OFYR and BSTRD. From the iconic, circular wood-fired hearth of the OFYR to the next-generation ceramic technology of BSTRD’s professional-grade outdoor ovens, our woodland kitchen is powered by the very best in live-fire innovation.

We cannot wait to welcome guests, new and returning, to a sanctuary of natural stillness as we toast to the end of summer.

"In the stillness of September, our woodland restaurant experience resets the soul."
 Melanie Brown

"One of my favourite things after a busy day on the farm is to sit quietly in our woodland and simply be still. It always sets the world right to me."
Becky Browning

The Experience

The Wild Table is a full culinary and atmospheric journey; an unhurried journey through the trees where the usual rules of time do not apply

  • The Arrival: Your adventure begins with a seasonal welcome cocktail in hand (non-alcoholic available) before you are led on a short forest walk to a secluded glade
  • The Gathering: In a world of constant noise, we are stripping away the formality of the modern dining room to create a space that is natural, calm, and heavy with flavour. Enjoy conversation and canapés served beneath the trees in this intimate atmosphere
  • The Feast: Take your seat at the shared communal woodland tables for a multi-course feasting menu. Every plate is a story in culinary presence - the culmination of weeks of preparation from slow-maturing roots and fermentations. Chef Melanie Brown uses the OFYR hearth and BSTRD’s premium live-fire equipment to transform the terroir on our doorstep into the fire alchemy of woodsmoke, time, and nature
  • The Setting: Dining takes place beneath the trees of Tey Brook Orchard. It is rugged gourmet in its purest form, a return to the pace of the land where we witness the evolution of the woods.

Important Notes

  • Cancellations: All tickets are non-refundable. However, you may transfer tickets to someone else and inform us of the change.
  • Dogs: Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome. Medium and large dogs are not permitted due to the nature of the event.
  • Children: This pop-up is primarily aimed at adults. While babes in arms are welcome, we do not recommend attendance for children under 8. Please ensure seats and tickets are booked for all attending children; lunch sittings are a little more family-friendly.
  • Allergies and Dietary Requirements: Our menu is nut free and a vegetarian main course is available, most dishes are also gluten free. Due to the nature and locality of our woodland restaurant, we are unfortunately unable to cater for vegans, nor any other dietary restrictions or allergies other than gluten and nut allergies. We cannot accommodate any last-minute changes or requests so vegetarian mains and the need for gluten free dishes must be confirmed in advance.
  • Seating: If you have other parties/friends in your group under separate names/tickets, please let us know by emailing admin@thelaundrybrixton.com so we can seat you together. Our communal tables seat 8 people each. While there’s no seating plan per se, we do allocate guests to tables ahead of time to ensure groups stay together at our shared woodland tables.
  • Weather: The Wild Table will go ahead in all weather conditions - rain, shine, hot or cold. In the case of adverse weather, we may make small adjustments to the outdoor dining experience to keep guests comfortable and safe. As this is an outdoor woodland event, we recommend dressing appropriately and bringing suitable layers; raincoats and umbrellas can be helpful.

The Wild Table is brought to life by…

Melanie Brown/The Laundry: The Chef Sommelier behind South London favourite, The Laundry. Melanie's cooking philosophy is rooted in bold flavour, simplicity, and celebrating the freshest local and seasonal ingredients.

Browning Bros.: Founded by fifth-generation farmers Nat and Archie Browning, Tey Brook Orchard is a beloved destination run with Nat’s wife, Becky, dedicated to creating beautiful, outdoor escapes and experiences.

OFYR & BSTRD: Our partners in fire. OFYR provides the iconic circular hearth for our woodland kitchen, while BSTRD represents a new generation of ceramic outdoor cooking technology. Their professional-grade equipment allows us to master the flame with unparalleled precision and heat retention, ensuring every harvest dish is cooked to perfection.
