What is safe haven Basketball club?
Safe-Haven Basketball club, is a club that caters to individuals with Special Education Need and disabilities. The club was founded by the remarkable Emma Colverd in 2016. Her aim was to provide a space for her daughter to take part in sport. Through her efforts, alongside Jump for health and head Coach Josephine Maignomo. They have been able to provide spaces for those eager to take part in the sport in Basketball.
Accessible
We welcome players of all abilities aged between 14 and 25. You do not need to have any previous experience of playing basketball. Come along to watch or try out a session.
Sessions
Every session we work on fitness first, then we learn some basketball skills, and then we play a game. Everyone gets to play and enjoy basketball with their team.
Competitions
We organise competitions so that our athletes can put their skills into practice. We compete against school teams. Our three teams get together for friendly tournaments. And we work with Special Olympics Camden to provide opportunities to compete against similar clubs.
