AML – Back to Basics
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) is something that law firms have to think about every day. It is at the top of the agenda for regulators and law makers. But ‘AML’ and what it means for law firms can be misunderstood and underplayed.
AML is essential for all members of staff at law firms to understand, to ensure legal compliance, manage risks effectively, maintain the firm's reputation and integrity, and uphold the highest standards of professional ethics.
This live online two hour course is the ideal way to keep up to date with best practice, focusing on a carefully selected range of important topical issues and perennial problem areas.
Prices: £195 + VAT for the first delegate. This is a per organisation price, so up to 10 of your colleagues from the same organisation can participate at no extra charge, even if they are viewing it from a different location or at a different time. So for example, if there are 10 of you the cost per delegate would be just £19.50 each.
For smaller firms with 4 or less partners, the price is £99 + VAT, which is for a single place with no additional free places
This on-line course goes back to basics and covers:
- The fundamentals of AML
- Outline of key legislation / regulatory requirements
- What are the consequences to the individual and the firm if something goes wrong?
- What is the LSAG guidance?
- Practical examples of legal work falling within the scope of the AML Regulations
This 2-hour on line course is suitable for:
- Fee earners of any level who want an AML refresher
- Support staff, paralegals, secretaries and others working alongside fee earners
- Those working in law firms who have not had to think about AML before but whose work now brings them within the scope of the Regulations
- Anyone for whom money laundering issues become ‘background noise’
