UK Food Law Update 2024: A Live Online Conference
Wed 2 Oct 2024 9:45 AM - 1:00 PM BST
Online, Zoom
Description
Our Annual Food Law Update conference is a comprehensive online three hour event for all those who need to keep up to date with the latest developments in food law, including private practice lawyers, in-house lawyers in food and beverage companies and retailers, food scientists and technologists, trading standards and environmental health officers and all others involved with compliance and the regulation, enforcement, application and interpretation of food law. It is definitely NOT a repeat of the 2023 Food Law conference - the programme has been redesigned from scratch.
This three hour online Food Law conference will be streamed live, direct to your desktop so you can watch it from your office or home.
The price for this is £249 + VAT
This is a per organisation price, so up to 20 of your colleagues can participate at no extra charge, even if they are viewing it from a different location or at a different time. The whole conference will be recorded so you have the choice of watching it live or recorded, or a mixture of both.
For firms with 4 or less partners, the price is £99 + VAT for a single ticket (no additional free places)
We have gathered together some leading experts in these complex areas, and between them they will cover the following topics::
-Sustainable food and farming under a Labour Government?
-Post-Brexit UK Food Regulations: Key Changes and Compliance Challenges: Overview of major regulatory shifts since Brexit and ongoing adjustments.
-UK Food Information Regulations - Recent Updates and Compliance Strategies
-Food Law Case law update
-Bringing gene edited products to market as a food and the interactions with the internal markets act
-Environmental claims
-Novel Foods Approval Process in the UK: Current Procedures and Future Outlook
-Food Crime and Fraud in the UK: Legal Frameworks and Enforcement
Although food law is of course country-specific, the way food law is applied in practice is more universal. In addition to the UK and Ireland, the conference will be relevant to delegates in other jurisdictions who are interested in how food law applies and particularly with those involved with exporting to the UK.
This is streets ahead of an ordinary passive webinar experience with one or two speakers, which would get very tedious very quickly. We have 8 speakers. With this online conference, you will be able to participate with up to 20 colleagues as you want - either live, or in segments (perhaps viewing it a session at a time over several days/weeks) or on an on-demand, recorded basis. You will be able to take part by video or audio from your office or home.
Speakers:
David Travers KC, Gough Square Chambers
Sam Jennings, Berry Ottaway & Associates
Ian Thomas, Barrister, Gough Square Chambers
Laura Phillips, Barrister, Gough Square Chambers
Katrina Anderson, Food Regulatory Lawyer, Mills & Reeve
Pete Martin, Clavis Food & Trading Law
Miles Bennett, Barrister, 5PB
Robert Jappie, Partner, Fieldfisher LLP
What will delegates take away from this conference?
- An in-depth understanding of the latest developments in food law
- A practical analysis of how the law applies to food and beverage companies and retailers
- Reduced price access to The Legal Training Consultancy’s portfolio of online courses and conferences
- The recording of the complete conference, which can be shared with colleagues within the same organisation.
Please read these Important Notes about Booking
1. Please ensure that, when booking, you get colleagues' email addresses entirely correct as failure to do so will probably mean that they will not receive joining instructions

3. If you have more than 20 delegates then extra delegates are £20 each. Contact us at info@legaltrainingconsultancy.co.uk to arrange this
4. If you don't have the complete list of who will be attending you can book for those that you know will be attending and add the others at a later date

6. The recording of the conference will not normally be available until 14 days after the conference.
Terms of booking
1. Payment of delegate fees for attendance is normally required before the date of the conference, otherwise attendance may be refused. This policy is flexible in relation to bookings received very close to the conference.
2. Replacement delegates are permitted at any time but if they are too close to the conference date, the change may not be reflected in the list of delegates
3. We operate a no cancellation policy. The only exception is in relation to demonstrable ill-health on the day of the conference. Notwithstanding this we may, at our discretion, offer a credit for the whole or part of the delegate fee paid to be used either towards the costs of a future conference or other event.
