UK Food Law Conference 2022
Wed 27 Apr 2022 1:45 PM - 5:00 PM BST
Online, Zoom
Description
This conference is a comprehensive online half-day event for all those who need to keep up to date with the latest developments in food law, including private practice lawyers, in-house lawyers in food and beverage companies and retailers, food scientists and technologists, trading standards and environmental health officers and all others involved with compliance and the regulation, enforcement, application and interpretation of food law. It is definitely NOT a repeat of the 2021 Food Law conference. The programme has been redesigned from scratch and we have many new speakers
This half day online Food Law conference will be streamed live, direct to your desktop so you can watch it from your office or home. The price for this is £225. This is a per organisation price, so up to 19 of your colleagues can participate at no extra charge, even if they are viewing it from a different location or at a different time. The whole conference will be recorded so you have a choice of watching it live or recorded, or a mixture of both.
For firms with 4 or less partners, the price is £99 + VAT for a single ticket (no additional free places)
We have gathered together some of the top experts in these complex areas, and between them they will cover the following topics::
- The making of environmental claims for food. 'Green claims in the food sector'
- Getting the on pack labelling right
- Precautionary allergen labelling
- The technical food laws often overlooked
- Food Recalls and Crisis Management
- Introduction to SPS (food import) checks, post-Brexit
- Regulatory intervention to protect and promote health
- An update on legal aspects of food promotions
- CBD update
Although food law is of course country-specific, the way food law is applied in practice is more universal. In addition to the UK and Ireland, the conference will be relevant to delegates in other jurisdictions who are interested in how food law applies and particularly with those involved with exporting to the UK.
This is streets ahead of an ordinary passive webinar experience with one or two speakers, which would get very tedious very quickly. We have 9 speakers. With this online conference, you will be able to participate with up to 19 colleagues as you want - either live, or in segments (perhaps viewing it a session at a time over several days/weeks) or on an on-demand, recorded basis. You will be able to take part by video or audio from your office or home.
Speakers:
David Travers QC, 9 Gough Square
Sarah Howarth, Howarth Food Safety Ltd
Sam Jennings, Berry Ottaway & Associates
Maree Gallagher, Covington & Burling
Pascal Bates, 6 Pump Court
Ian Thomas, 6 Pump Court
Ian Down, Keystone Law
Jonathan Underhill, 3PB Barristers
Pete Martin, Ashbury

Please read these Important Notes about Booking
1. If you are booking more than say 14 delegates, it is probably better to make two bookings of half the number of delegates each, starting with the paying delegate and then adding half the free delegates to that booking and then creating a new booking for the rest of the free delegates. The reason for this is that the booking platform time-out kicks in perhaps too quickly and you can lose all the information you inputted. Alternatively you can book your first delegate and send the names, job titles and email addresses of the additional delegates to us at info@legaltrainingconsultancy.co.uk
2. Payment can be made by credit or debit card or alternatively by invoice. The option to pay by invoice is below the pay by card option in the booking form
3. If you have more than 20 delegates then extra delegates are £20 each. Contact us at info@legaltrainingconsultancy.co.uk to arrange this
4. If you don't have the complete list of who will be attending you can book for those that you know will be attending and add the others at a later date
5. If you would like to submit questions in advance to the speakers please send them to info@legaltrainingconsultancy.co.uk
6. The recording of the conference will not normally be available until 14 days after the conference.
Terms of booking
1. Payment of delegate fees for attendance is normally required before the date of the conference, otherwise attendance may be refused. This policy is flexible in relation to bookings received very close to the conference.
2. Replacement delegates are permitted at any time but if they are too close to the conference date, the change may not be reflected in the list of delegates
3. We operate a no cancellation policy. The only exception is in relation to demonstrable ill-health on the day of the conference. Notwithstanding this we may, at our discretion, offer a credit for the whole or part of the delegate fee paid to be used either towards the costs of a future conference or other event or in-house training
