Introduction to Speech and Language module
This course starts on 1st October 2024 and begins with an online zoom meeting at 11am.
Module Content
The Introduction to Speech and Language module aims to develop participants’ understanding of what is meant by ‘speech’, ‘language’ and ‘communication’ and how children acquire speech and language skills.
Participants will learn about the impact of SLCN on learning and how to create a communication-friendly environment within the classroom and wider school environment, so that all students, not just those with SLCN, can fully access their education.
How long is the course?
This course will take an average of 2 hours per week over 8 to 10 weeks.
Who is the course suitable for?
It is suitable for those working with pupils aged 4 to to 11 years of age (primary only, not pre school age).
