Flotilla of Light

Join a lantern flotilla to Gaza! On Sunday, January 11 at 2pm, lantern artist Fritz Smith will lead us in crafting beautiful boat-shaped lanterns. No lantern-making experience? No problem! This workshop is appropriate for all abilities. All materials will be provided and you'll be sent home with your own complete boat lantern.

🎶 Live nautical-themed (mostly) Arabic music by Bahloul, Rania El Fekih, Alyssa Lawson, and more. We're talking Hadi ya bahr, Shayf il bahr shu kbir, Il Nahr Il Khalid... Yellow Submarine may or may not be on the list.

✨ Participants are invited to bring their completed lanterns to Watertown's River of Light lantern parade on Saturday, January 17 at 4pm. We will show up with joy and peaceful solidarity to keep all eyes on Palestine.

⚓ Proceeds support US Boats to Gaza, the US partner of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. US Boats to Gaza sends boats to bring international attention to the illegal Israeli blockade on Gaza and inspires the world to stand for human rights for Palestinians.
