This hands-on composite course is designed for clinicians who want to master both the art and precision of modern restorative dentistry. Go beyond the basics and learn how to craft lifelike, long-lasting restorations that not only function flawlessly but look exceptional—every time.

Pre-course

Pre-course learning covers all the theory and a deep dive into managing the posterior to include planning, isolation, matrices and the restoration of posterior teeth.

Day One

Theory

  • Photography Fundamentals
  • Rubber dam isolation for the Posterior
  • Matrix selection in the Posterior
  • Gold standard bonding protocols
  • Techniques for restoring posterior teeth - Bulkfil versus Incremental layering
  • Finishing and polishing Posterior restorations
  • Managing failures in the Posterior

Hands on exercises

  • Quadrant Isolation
  • Class 2 using sectional matrix techniques
  • Whole quadrant isolation and restoration using various matrices/techniques
  • Back to back cavities
  • Deep marginal elevation and managing the last tooth in the arch
  • Simplified anterior isolation and Split dam
  • Direct composite veneer and finishing and polishing protocols

Day Two

Theory

  • Anterior photography and Smile design
  • Simplified rubber dam isolation in the Anterior
  • Matrix selection in the Anterior
  • Techniques for restoring Anterior teeth  - Direct composite veneers, Edge bonding, Injection moulding, Diastema closure and Black triangles
  • Aesthetics in Anterior teeth  - Simplified single shade, Multilayering techniques and Creating effects
  • Finishing and polishing Anterior restorations
  • Managing failures in the Anterior

Hands on exercises

  • Digital wax-ups and Stent preparation
  • Class 4 with material/matrix selection and creating incisal effects
  • Peg lateral incisor using a semi-direct approach
  • Peg lateral incisor using an injection moulding approach

Equipment

We will provide all models and restorative equipment but it is beneficial for you to bring your loupes along with you


Food and Drinks

Pastries, Lunch and drinks for the day are provided.
