With a career spanning more than 40 years, Phil has performed with legendary artists including Les Paul, Brian May and Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain, appeared in over 1200 performances of We Will Rock You, and established himself as a leading guitarist, producer and educator.
For this special performance, Phil is joined by his son for an intimate set of jazz and contemporary music, followed by an engaging Q&A session, offering audiences a fascinating insight into his remarkable career, influences and life in the music industry.

Phil Hilborne is a highly accomplished UK session guitarist, educator, and producer with more than four decades in the music industry. Known for his versatile rock playing, he has toured and recorded worldwide, sharing the stage with icons such as Les Paul, Steve Vai, Brian May, and Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain. Highlights include over 1200 performances in the West End’s We Will Rock You and numerous international clinics and arena tours. A pioneer in guitar education, Hilborne co-founded Guitar Techniques magazine, served as Music Editor for Guitarist, and has written hundreds of articles and books. He also runs WM Studios and continues to teach, record, and perform with his own band.

George Hilborne has been playing guitar pretty much since he was born! However,
he started playing seriously from about the age of 8 onwards. From a very early age George performed as a guest of ‘The Phil Hilborne Band’ - often playing alongside well known musicians such as Robbie Macintosh, Geoff Whitehorn and many others.
He has also played gigs and festivals with his own fusion trio ‘Invisible Fish’.
George plays as part of the instrumental acoustic guitar duo “Phil & George Hilborne’. So far they have played gigs, functions, workshops and festivals in the UK and Wales - including the 2026 Preston Jazz Festival,
