Chris Davison @ Salero - The Lounge

Join us at the Salero Lounge for an evening with acclaimed Southend singer-songwriter Chris Davison, a long-standing and much-loved figure on the Essex live music scene.

Performing both as a solo artist and with a number of well-known local bands over many years, Chris has built a reputation for thoughtful songwriting, warm performances, and a genuine passion for supporting grassroots live music. A familiar face at open mic nights, festivals, and venues across the region, he has appeared at major festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown and Leigh Folk Festival, while also supporting celebrated acts such as Dodgy, Carter USM, Alabama Three and Toots and the Maytals.

Chris’s songs are filled with character and storytelling, drawing inspiration from true-life experiences, local personalities, holidays to Ireland, cricket, cycling, family, friendship, love, loss, and the occasional rock star turned neighbour. Blending reflective lyricism with memorable melodies, his music sits comfortably alongside influences including Nick Drake, Neil Young, Lemonheads, Ben Folds Five and Ewan MacColl.

Alongside his solo work, Chris also performs guitar and bass duties with Essex bands The Pete Davies Three, Angry and Potential Death Trap. With several releases already to his name — including Antidote to Rock and Roll (2014) and Fragments (2020) — audiences can also look forward to material from his forthcoming 2026 album, Hobbies & Interests.
