Join us at the Salero Lounge for an evening with acclaimed Essex singer-songwriter Jamie Williams, front man of Jamie Williams and the Roots Collective and one of the region’s most prolific and respected original artists.

Writing songs since the age of 11, Jamie has built an extraordinary catalogue of more than 2,000 songs across a career spanning blues, folk, country, and rock. With two solo albums and fifteen band albums to his name — including eleven releases with the Roots Collective — Jamie has established himself as a powerful storyteller and distinctive voice on the UK roots music scene.

Beginning his musical journey in covers bands, soul and blues outfit Harvey Williams, and heavy rock band The Blast, Jamie eventually formed Jamie Williams and the Roots Collective in 2010 as a vehicle for recording another solo album. What began as a loose collective of musicians soon evolved into the acclaimed band known today for its rich blend of Americana, roots rock, alt-country, and southern influences.

Jamie’s songwriting combines subtle social observation, emotional honesty, and memorable melodies. As Get Ready To Rock noted, “Jamie sends out a message which most of us are feeling at the moment, of how do we cope living in this divisive world of uncertainty and hate mongering,” delivered not through overt politics, but thoughtful and relatable storytelling.
