Jon Greaves has become well known over the years for the vast catalogue of cover songs he can play which has lead to him becoming known on the pub and club circuit as The Human Jukebox.
However, on top of that, he has also gained himself a strong reputation as a songwriter too. His subject matter generally revolves around his own life experiences coupled with his discerning and often highly amusing observations on life in general. His main influences include Pink Floyd, Roy Harper, and The Kinks.
Jon's early successes included having a song published in a local music book and another being picked up by Amnesty International who invited him to perform it at many of their events.
He also co-wrote the festive tune 'Let's All Go Raving Loony For Christmas' with his regular singing partner Angela Gardner which won a radio Christmas song writing competition, and for a while became a best seller on the 7Digital Indiestore website.
More recently they co-wrote a piece about the famous Aviation Pioneer Amy Johnson which is currently being used by Jane Priston who runs the Amy Johnson Project based in Herne Bay. Jon also wrote a musical account of the famous Battle Of Maldon, which is has received similar recognition from Maeldune Heritage centre.
Other notable song writing projects he has been instrumental in include Stow Maries Airdrome, Purleigh Vineyards and The Maldon Mud Race.
