Join The Manchester College in a full day of performing arts sessions, including masterclasses from industry experts, Robyn Brown, May Tether and Jason Patel. 

This fun and energetic event offers current year 10 and 11 school students an opportunity to get involved in some real hands on activities across dance, acting, and musical theatre. Whether you've got experience in these areas, are joining us as a student in September, or you are thinking of applying, this is a great chance to experience something really enjoyable, make new friends, and get a taste of what The Manchester College has to offer for aspiring performing artists!

Robyn Brown

Robyn is a renowned choreographer and dance educator, celebrated for her innovative approach and exceptional teaching style. As the first British member of the esteemed Royal Family Dance Crew, Robyn has honed her craft through rigorous training and international performances. Her expertise spans commercial, hip-hop, and heels genres. Robyn delivers high-energy workshops, inspiring dancers nationwide, fostering technical excellence, creativity, and confidence.

May Tether

May is a west end performer who has been featured in multiple casts of Heathers the musical, including the stage capture movie on Amazon prime. She has also played parts such as Dainty June in Gypsy, Jessie in Halls the musical and appeared in various plays across England.

Jason Patel

Jason is the lead role in Unicorns directed by Sally El Hosaini & James Krishna Floyd and available on Netflix. He was nominated for the BIFA Breakthrough Performance Award and Joint-Lead Performance 2024. Jason is one of Screen International's Screen Star of Tomorrow 2024.

Event Schedule

9:00 AM - 9:30 AM - Welcome and introductions

9:30 AM - 10:00 AM - Performance by students of The Manchester College

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Masterclass workshops 

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM - Lunch

12:45 PM - 4:00 PM - Masterclass workshops

4:00 PM - 4:45 PM - Performance showcase (Parents/Carers welcome)

4:45 PM - Event close

*Personal schedule will be provided once you have signed up to your preferred pathway (acting, dance, or musical theatre).

What to bring

Appropriate dance clothing if you have this available, however joggers and a t-shirt will be just as good. Please make sure you're wearing socks and clean trainers or jazz shoes for use in the studio. Whatever you wear, be sure that it's comfortable clothing that you're able to move in!
