Monica Feria-Tinta
Monica Feria-Tinta
Pioneering barrister Monica Feria-Tinta advocates not only for people, but also for those who have no voice: for rivers, forests and endangered species.
In A Barrister for the Earth, she takes us behind the scenes as she fights the destruction of cloud forests — arguing that not only should sovereign states account for their inaction, but that non-humans and landscapes have rights to be defended. Her landmark cases signal that we are at an important juncture, in which the law can be a powerful tool for lasting change. As Isabella Tree (author of Rewilding) says, "law could be our planet’s greatest hope. I was punching the air as I read Monica's powerful, inspiring book."
Join this fascinating and remarkable woman as she discusses her work with Book Bash regular, the incomparable Patrick Barkham.
This event will run from 11:00am to 12:00pm with a signing taking place afterwards.
