Andy Karr is our next guest. Andy has a special gift for diving into challenging topics and making them clear, without watering down their meaning. We are looking forward to talking with him about the meaning of views, his upcoming book, and the historical evolution of the Middle Way Path.

Andy has studied with many great masters, including Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and Khenpo Tulstrim Gyamtso. ABOUT ELIZABETH MATTIS NAMGYEL

Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel has studied and practiced the Buddhadharma for over 35 years under the guidance of her root teacher Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. She is the author of two books, The Power of an Open Question and The Logic of Faith.

She edited two books by Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, It’s Up to You and Light Comes Through, Elizabeth has taught programs throughout the world, including the USA, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand and is a teacher in Mangala Shri Bhuti.

After completing a six year retreat, Kongtrul RInpoche appointed her Retreat Master at the Samten Ling retreat center in Colorado. She holds degrees in Anthropology (BA) and Buddhist Studies (MA).

Elizabeth founded a secular nonprofit organization called The Middle Way Initiative to offer teachings, retreats, and conversations with her and other teachers and guests. With Anam Thubten, she is a founding member and teacher in the Wilderness Dharma Movement.

Andy Karr is a teacher, author, and photographer who offers profound insights into dharma and mind. His latest book, Into the Mirror: A Buddhist Journey through Mind, Matter, and the Nature of Reality, released by Shambhala Publications in May, shows how we can make a deep Mahayana journey in an age of materialism. His first book, Contemplating Reality, published by Shambhala in 2007, is a series of investigations into the nature of mind and the phenomenal world. He also co-authored The Practice of Contemplative Photography: Seeing the World with Fresh Eyes with Michael Wood, which was released by Shambhala in 2011.
