The Wisdom of the Herd
An Experiential Workshop on Ethics, Regulation, and Clinical Safety
Location: Outdoors / Equine-Assisted Environment
Audience: Licensed and Pre-licensed Therapists (No equine experience required)
Traditional ethics trainings often happen in fluorescent-lit rooms with slide decks. This workshop breaks that mold. By stepping into the outdoor "classroom" of the herd, practitioners will engage in a living laboratory of communication, boundaries, and nervous system feedback.
While we partner with horses as our experiential teachers, the insights gained are designed for immediate translation to any clinical setting—from private practice offices to community health centers.
Experience a profound shift in how you understand the nervous system. This immersive workshop invites mental health professionals out of the office and into the field for an in-depth, somatic exploration of co-regulation and autonomic dynamics.
By partnering with horses—animals whose survival depends on physiological attunement—you will gain a "living map" of the human nervous system. Whether you join us for one day or the full series, you will leave with a heightened ability to track, attune, and respond to your clients’ most complex needs.
The Weekend Experience
We believe that for a clinician to facilitate healing, they must first find their own ground. This workshop is designed as a restorative journey:
- Friday Evening | Welcome to the Pasture: Our experience begins under the open sky with a bonfire and a s'mores bar. This is our time to settle into the setting, connect with fellow practitioners, and transition into our outdoor classroom.
- Saturday & Sunday | The Training: Engage in facilitated equine-assisted experiences to track, attune, and respond to nervous system shifts in real-time. 10 CEUs including 3 ethics and 2 suicide prevention.
- Optional Saturday Night | Reflection at the Springs: After a day of deep learning, join us for an evening at Crystal Hot Springs. Soak in the mineral waters for a period of relaxation and quiet reflection—allowing the day’s insights to integrate into the body.
Flexible Participation
Choose the path that fits your schedule and clinical focus:
- Option 1: The Ethics Focus (Friday Night & Saturday) Navigating ethical decision-making, suicide prevention, and informed consent through the lens of herd dynamics. 7 CEU's (3 ethics and 2 suicide prevention.
- Option 2: The Full 1.5 Day Intensive (The Complete Experience) The full progression from ethical boundaries to somatic mastery, including the Saturday night soak at Crystal Hot Springs. 10 CEU's total including (3 ethics and 2 suicide prevention).
