Friday 6 June | 10:30am
13 Avenue Paul Poret, 14114 Ver-sur-Mer
We warmly invite you to join us at the British Normandy Memorial to mark the 82nd anniversary of D-Day.
A short commemorative service will take place at 10:30am at the Memorial and will conclude at approximately 11:15am. The event is open to all and free to attend. We hope to be joined, all being well, by three Normandy veterans — a powerful and moving reminder of the generation whose courage we honour.
Seating will be strictly limited, so we encourage visitors to arrive in good time. Visitors are very welcome to bring their own fold-up seats if they wish.
Visitors will also be able to see the Standing with Giants installation in the wildflower meadow, and the Winston Churchill Centre for Education will be open for refreshments and facilities.
Practical Information
Entry: Free
Parking: On-site parking available (parking fee applies)
Arrival: Please allow time to park and walk to the Memorial before the 10:30am service
**Please note**:
There are major roadworks taking place in Ver-sur-Mer in 2026, which may affect your journey to the Memorial. The main road heading from north to south through the village towards Crépon will be closed to traffic from February until October. Please double check your GPS to ensure that your planned route to the Memorial goes via Courseulles-sur-Mer to the east or Arromanches / Asnelles to the west and follows the coastal road (D514).
Accessibility
Please note that the only public toilet facilities are located by the car park. There are no public toilets at the Memorial itself.
Disabled parking is available close to the fully accessible toilets at the car park.
The Memorial is approximately an 8-minute walk from the car park along compacted gravel paths suitable for wheelchairs and walking aids. Some areas are grassed and may become slippery in wet weather.
Benches are positioned around the site for visitors wishing to rest. Visitors with limited mobility are kindly asked to bring any required mobility aids.
The British Normandy Memorial does not have dedicated staff onsite to assist with specific accessibility needs, although every effort has been made to ensure the site is accessible to visitors.
