Peas Park is a community space located in the Skeogniell and Glandore area of North Belfast, situated on what once would have been considered an interface.  The project emerged out of a guerrilla gardening event in 2010 and is often described as a creative growing space.  It is a shared space place for people from different backgrounds to meet, create and plant seeds of change.

This talk will explore what a ‘shared space’ means, the challenges and practical ways we can connect people and create places together.

Dr Callie Persic works in urban regeneration in Belfast City Council leading the new city vision and various placemaking initiatives.  She brings innovation and creativity to projects by working collaboratively across sectors and communities to find solutions to the challenges facing Belfast. She is interested in the gendered nature of urban design and works with and for people to develop inclusive and diverse urban spaces.
