A long time Bbeyond member previous co director of Catalyst Arts she is has been performing since 2005. She will talk about her art practice.

To her to create art is like running an engine.

air=inspiration, petrol =fragments of life/flux which are chosen by the artists as 'objects of wisdom and desire' and choosing a fragment of life to transform this into art, the performance artist acts like a (LICHTNASCHINE'(Light-machine= generator) to create the sparks, energy, electricity-this requires skills, experience and the utmost concentration...like compressing a piece of coal into a diamond...the electricity is generated by the artist as the 'alchemist' and light machine.

'When a specific social concern grows more into an all-encompassing global concern, it maybe less visible and poignant in a performance-becomes a diluted egalitarianism'.

Keiki Twisselmann- studio flat in Carlisle memorial

Keiki was one of the founder members of Catalyst Arts, Belfast she is a long term member of Bbeyond and founder member of Bbeyond Berlin. She had a studio flat in Carlisle Memorial Church and organized Belfast's first art cinema and founded the 'provisional German embassy' which gave shelter and protection to anyone and everyone without prejudice. Her public performances are part of the Troubles archive. She now lives and works in Berlin and Belfast She studied philosophy, English Literature, politics and law out of interest on top of her BA and MFA from Ulster University.
