Tue 12 Nov 2024 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM GMT

Description
The Online Safety Act requires online platforms to implement highly effective age assurance processes to prevent children from accessing inappropriate or harmful content. But what does 'highly effective age assurance' actually mean and how can our members ensure they comply with the legislation?
In this webinar, we'll be taking an in-depth look at how age assurance has evolved and the different types of age assurance that satisfy the definition under the Act. We'll also be looking at the impact on privacy and what we can learn from other countries around the world.
We'll be joined by three expert panellists for a thrilling debate on one of the most important topics of the year.
Panellists:
Arietta Valmas, Policy Manager, Ofcom - Arietta is a Trust and Safety Policy Manager at Ofcom. She currently leads the Reporting and Complaints workstreams across the VSP and Online Safety regulatory regimes. Previously she led the policy development team responsible for producing Ofcom's age assurance measures and guidance for part 3 services, outlining how online services should use age assurance to protect children in the digital world. Her areas of expertise include age assurance, safety by design and children's rights.
