Description
A cornucopia of contemporary classical music performances to Stoke Newington's beautiful and intimate Old Church. From established modern classics and iconic 20th-century rarities to brand new music including world premieres.
The second weekend highlights the piano, both alone and in combination with other instruments, voices and sounds - from the concert grand to toy pianos in their infinite varieties.
Saturday
3:30pm: Music for violin and piano - Jane Faulkner (violin) and Gary Peacock (piano).
7:30pm: Wetlands - Stephen Gutman's exquisitely crafted programme brings together a variety of works for solo piano reflecting on nature and birdsong in particular, by composers of the 20th and 21st century.
Sunday
3:30pm: Celebrating Judith Weir and friends - Sarah Leonard (soprano) and Stephen Gutman (piano).
7:30pm: Music for piano and toy piano - An exciting programme contrasting music for the grand piano and that for the toy piano, featuring works by Julia Wolff, John Cage, Stephen Montague and Brian Inglis.
