The Role of the Glenbow Museum in Reframing our Community’s Relation to Arts and Culture.
Nicolas Bell joined the Glenbow museum in 2019. Having previously held the positions of Senior Vice President for Curatorial Affairs at Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Connecticut and The Fleur and Charles Bresler Curator-in-Charge of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Renwick Gallery in Washington, DC, he gained valuable experience in overseeing the launch of formidable exhibitions.
Now, Nicolas is overseeing the $205 million transformation of the Glenbow Museum, a redevelopment that will see changes to its physical spaces and public programming. The new design will make arts and culture experiences accessible, sustainable, and community focused.
What will the transformation mean for the City of Calgary and its residents? Combined with the $480 million Art Commons redevelopment, how will arts and culture be a pivotal driver of Calgary’s future and civic life?
We welcome Nicholas Bell, CEO of the Glenbow Museum to provide insight into this exciting change to our city’s core.
