The Art of Kokedamas - How to Make “Plant Planets”

Take time out of your weekend to enjoy a relaxing, sensory workshop learning all about the Japanese art of making Kokedamas. (Or, as we like to call them, Plant Planets!)

Kokedama, roughly translates into English as “moss ball’. This is a Japanese method of binding the root ball of a plant so that it nolonger needs a pot. A Kokedama can then be hung up or displayed sitting on a decorative plate or piece of wood. 

In this session we’ll explore the traditional art of Kokedama making, using leafy plants and moss. It’s a great opportunity to learn about handling plants, roots and soil, making the most of time well spent connecting to nature. When you finish, you'll have a couple of Kokedama plant balls to take home and love.  All of the materials and guidance will be provided, along with aftercare instructions on how to help your Kokedama to thrive. 

There are just 6 spaces available for this workshop. It is suitable for anyone aged 10 and upwards. Anyone attending the workshop will also receive a 10% discount on any purchases from the shop on that day.

Parking is available nearby in Nunnery Lane, Lowther Terrace or The Crescent. Bike racks can be found just around the corner near to Everyman Cinema on Blossom Street.

This workshop is non refundable unless the event is cancelled by the host. If you are no longer able to attend please contact us as soon as possible. There is a minimum number of 2 participants in order for this workshop to be viable. If this minimum is not met you will be contacted in advance of the event and given the option of a full refund or voucher for the next available workshop.
