Pickin' at the Pantry

Thu Oct 1, 2026 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM Pancake Pantry, 1796 21st Ave S Nashville TN 37212

Following the success of the sold-out inaugural “Pickin’ at the Pantry” songwriter night in July, The Pancake Pantry is pleased to announce the second edition of the event on Oct. 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. at its Hillsboro Village location. The after-hours event, held in partnership with Buddy’s Place, will feature live performances by acclaimed songwriters Alex Hall, Jamie Floyd and Brett Sheroky, along with an exclusive limited menu of the restaurant’s greatest hits and some new fall features. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for dinner with the show beginning at 7 p.m.

“We were delighted with the response to our inaugural event and are excited to bring ‘Pickin’ at the Pantry’ back for a fall show.” said Chip Bradley, managing partner of Pancake Pantry. “These events are a nod to the restaurant’s roots and ties to Music Row, and we look forward to giving the community another evening of comfort food, talented musicians and local spirit.”

Founded in 2011, Buddy’s Place has grown from a small house concert series into a respected Nashville songwriter series, showcasing acclaimed artists and supporting local talent. Owners Buddy Norris and Ellen Huddleston are dedicated to celebrating Music City’s songwriting community through curated live performances.

“We had a great time bringing the spirit of Buddy’s Place to the iconic Pancake Pantry, and we’re excited to do it again,” said Norris. “October’s event will spotlight some incredible local talent, giving guests the chance to discover talented songwriters while enjoying a favorite plate of pancakes and other favorites on the menu.”

The following artists have been hand-selected by Buddy’s Place to perform at the Oct. 1 event:

  • Alex Hall is a country singer and guitarist who blends country-pop with blues, rock and Americana. A Gainesville, Georgia, native, Hall began playing guitar at 14, was performing in Nashville by 15 and signed with Monument Records in 2018. His releases include the 2021 EP Six Strings and 2023 album Side Effects of the Heart, featuring collaborations with artists including Vince Gill, Tenille Townes and Brandy Clark. Hall has performed multiple times at the Grand Ole Opry and continues to tour and release new music, including his 2026 EP Turn This Love Around, featuring collaborations with Vince Gill, Tenille Townes and Mae Estes.
  • Jamie Floyd is a three-time Grammy-nominated songwriter and recording artist who has written for artists including Kelly Clarkson, Ronnie Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Kesha, Sturgill Simpson, Madi Diaz and Lizzy McAlpine. She has also written music for film and television, including projects featuring Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds. Floyd recently made her Grand Ole Opry debut alongside Vince Gill, performing her duet “The Blade” with The Voice winner Jake Hoot.
  • Brett Sheroky is a songwriter and recording artist whose music blends ’70s rock with ’90s country. Following a successful career writing for artists in the Americana and country genres, including Blake Shelton, Granger Smith and Matt Stell, Sheroky stepped into the spotlight with his debut album, ROCK PAPER SCISSORS. Known for compelling storytelling, clever wordplay and a deep respect for the craft of songwriting, Sheroky delivers music that is both nostalgic and fresh.
