Join Penny Dreadful for a walk on the wilder side of Saffron Walden as she spins stories of ghostly gardens, murky murders, pustulant plagues and a creepy pile of castle.

Harrowing hauntings in timber-framed townhouses? The vicious Victorian murder of a Constable on Halloween night? A local legend’s lethal lighthouse fail? It’s all here in this fascinating, funny and frightful frolic around town!

This is an hour-long walking tour starting outside the front of the Town Hall. There will not be a chance to sit down once the tour has begun. Please wear sensible footwear and dress for the weather.

The tour starts at the advertised time and we cannot wait for latecomers. Please arrive between 5-10 minutes before the tour to be ready to depart on the dot!
