Join us for the opening of an important new exhibit! Founding Fossils is a multi-sensory exhibition conceived by Dr. Cheryl Fogle-Hatch, a Baltimore-based archaeologist and accessibility consultant. This exhibit includes 3D-printed versions of fossils originally collected by the Peale family and early American leaders. The exhibition will interweave replicas of the mastodon fossils with tactile versions of a graphic novel series created by Dr. Bernard Means and students from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Founding Fossils is supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council and Virginia Commonwealth University.

The Peale welcomes Direct Dimensions as Founding Fossils opening reception sponsor. For more than 25 years, Direct Dimensions has been providing methods and solutions for 3D scanning across nearly every industry and application, including museum exhibitions! They have been an important partner in the helping The Peale realize our goal to make the exhibition an accessible experience for the low-vision and blind communities.
