Rosalie - Pleasure Dome Theatre
Thursday 15 October at 7.30pm
'Rosalie' presented by Pleasure Dome Theatre
Pleasure Dome Theatre Company, led by Artistic Director Helena Payne, creates and tours classical theatre with a South West twist.
'Rosalie' is inspired by one of Exmoor's most remarkable women, Rosalie Chichester of Arlington Court (1865-1949). Scientist, photographer, explorer, collector, and unapologetic eccentric, the play explores female identity and familial responsibility in Victorian England.
"Pleasure Dome have worked out how to make a performance fly," Britishtheatre.com on LEAR
"This was a virtuoso reimagining of a truly remarkable woman, which resonated with its local audience in a special way and rang a few contemporary bells. The National Trust's partnership with the Pleasure Dome Theatre in this and other productions is an imaginative outreach beneficial to all." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The West Somerset Free Press
Directed by award-winning Scott Le Crass, this play sheds light on one of the South West's most fascinating individuals.
