Learn the secrets of beauty and skincare photography in this fun immersive workshop!

Ever wondered how photographers achieve that flawless, glowing skin? Discover the secrets of the beauty dish and much more in this workshop with London-based Photographer Chantel King will be sharing tips and showcasing demos from her extensive experience on beauty campaigns, alongside live Studio shooting experimentations that breakdown her approach to creating impactful, industry-ready imagery.

This workshop is designed to empower you with insight, practical knowledge, and resilience to better support a sustainable and competitive career within the beauty-focused industry.

What to expect:
💄 Hearing about the evolution and history of beauty photography, from classic studio craftsmanship to contemporary campaign aesthetics.

✨ An overview of the current commercial landscape, including how AI-driven beauty campaigns are reshaping production, competition, and visual standards.

📸 Live Studio set up demonstrations & shooting experimentations that showcase different styles of commercial beauty photography, including clean skincare (natural), high-gloss beauty (pop), and expressive editorial-led looks.

🛠️ Practical tools and on-set tips for streamlining workflows and thriving in competitive beauty-focused photography careers.

🧬 Developing and maintaining a unique, identifiable creative 'beauty blueprint' while working within brand guidelines and client expectations.

🔥 Chantel will also discuss overcoming adversity in the sector, including creative burnout, rejection, and adapting to rapid industry change.

About the Organisers

Chantel King (she, her) is a London - based Photographer with a special focus on beauty & portraiture. Chantel has built her own photographic experience and style for visual storytelling whilst working as a full time photography assistant, then progressing to producer and studio manager. Her photographic style is cinematic, dreamy & intimate. She is passionate about documenting skin, incorporating different tones and shapes, she loves all the details, moles, beauty spots, wrinkles and crinkles. More than anything, the storytelling through play of light and angles, through her lens. Chantel has work featured in Vogue US, Elle & GQ magazine. Her own commissions include shoots for Valentino Beauty, Revolution Beauty, REHAB, Sweaty Betty, Fable & Mane, Ateh Jewel Beauty, Stylist, Grazia, Departures, Hunger, Mission and Schon! magazines. Her portfolio also features portraiture for titles such as The Guardian Saturday, The Sunday Times magazine & The Old Vic.

The Photography Foundation is a London-based charity set up in 2019 to create pathways into photography careers and the wider creative industries. We are driven by our belief that everyone deserves a fulfilling creative career, and that creativity thrives when barriers to opportunity are removed. We have grown into a dynamic hub of creativity, community, and career development for diverse audiences. Our events programme is designed to support a sustainable creative career by enhancing your skills, promoting wellbeing, and underlining the importance of making time for inspiration and creativity in your practice.

Our programme brings together a range of events with different pricing levels, allowing us to better reflect the breadth of the photography and creative careers landscape. To ensure our events remain accessible, we offer a select number of bursary tickets for paid events, and all ticket proceeds help us to continue to deliver low cost and free events for our community.

• Our Public Programmes are aimed at anyone aged 16+. If you are an adult who wishes to join with someone younger than 16 years old, please contact us in advance at Events@thephotographyfoundation.org

🎟 Ticket Information

• Spaces are limited, if you can no longer attend, please request a refund for your ticket at least 48 hrs before the event via emailing us at Events@thephotographyfoundation.org

•If you request a ticket refund in less than 2 days before the scheduled event, you will be charged the full cost of the ticket, and you will not receive a refund.

• There is a fee for this workshop, however if you feel unable to pay, please get in touch at Events@thephotographyfoundation.org as we may have bursary spaces available upon remaining availability.
