Moments Musicaux Cruise - David Gordon, jazz piano
Beautiful music and an experience for every occasion in the world's most intimate concert hall
Please note that access to the boat is via a set of 12 steps from the road to the canal. There are 3 steps down into the boat after boarding, the first of which is quite steep. There is a handrail both for the canal-side steps, and the boat steps.
The Piano Boat exists to create magical experiences on the waterways, where you can escape for a while to a floating dimension in which sublime, live music drifts across you, food and drinks appear, and you glide along the canal in a purpose-built concert venue on the water with only a handful of other guests around you.
'An incredibly unique experience like no other. Cruising aboard the majestic Piano boat, serenaded by a world class pianist and served 5* canapés with champagne - perfect in every way.'

The Pianist - David Gordon
There are few musicians who cross musical boundaries with as much relish as David Gordon. His many recordings with his own trio have earned rave reviews and over 20 CDs featuring his compositions have established him as a unique talent on the British music scene.
Having studied mathematics in Bristol, David has since gone on to collaborate with a wide variety of musicians including violinists Andrew Manze, Christian Tetzlaff, Nigel Kennedy, Daniel Pioro and Christian Garrick, trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and singer Jacqui Dankworth in addition touring the world with the gypsy-tango outfit Zum and the baroque orchestra The English Concert and to leading his own groups, notably the David Gordon Trio.
As composer he has written four concertos and a community opera. As composer/performer/director he has worked with Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Swan, amongst others. His writing projects often have themed titles: Romanesque, inspired by the architecture of southwest France, JazzPsalms for Peace, for singer Jacqui Dankworth, or Earthcycle, celebrating the beauty of nature.
His research into historical improvisation has fed his passion to transmit improvisational practice beyond the world of jazz. He also formed HighWire Baroque, an improvising baroque orchestra and is a member of the London Tango Quintet
He is described by JazzFM’s David Freeman like this: ‘he doesn’t play many notes, but the notes that he does play are almost the selection of a genius’.
