FREE EVENT FOR INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL GRADUATES INTERESTED IN SURGERY

The Portfolio Clinic presents its final live event of 2024, 'IMG to CST', which will be held on Saturday 12th October from 09:00am to 3:00pm at The University of Law (London Bloomsbury). The aim of this sessions is to prepare delegates for applying to Core Surgical Training whilst also considering other avenues for pursuing a surgical career in the UK. The first half of the day will include speakers who  will provide first hand experience of their journey to CST as an IMG. Other talks will include alternatives to CST as well as tips for the MSRA exam. 

For the second half of the day, there will be opportunity to participate in a mock interview to complete the delegates experience of the IMG series. Priority for this will be for mentees on the IMG Surgical Careers Programme however if you are an external candidate, you may register your interest for any vacancies. 

About the IMG Surgical Careers Programme:

The Portfolio Clinic's International Medical Graduate Surgical Careers Programme is a mentoring initiative sponsored and endorsed by the Royal College of Surgeons, England, aiming to help International Medical Graduates get into the surgical programme of their choice. 

Mentees who are currently on the IMG Surgical Careers Programme will be prioritised for this event but external candidates are welcome to apply.

Registration

While the event is free to attend, a £20 deposit is required to secure your spot. 

If you are allocated a space for our mock interviews, you will be contacted in due course to provide a further £30 deposit.

All deposits will be returned following attendance at the event.

Travel Grant

We understand the financial challenges of travel. Participants are eligible to apply for The Portfolio Clinic's Travel Grant, which covers up to 50% of your travel costs, or up to £30, whichever is lower, by sending in your travel receipt. Sign up soon to avoid disappointment, as this is limited to the first 20 registrations!
