Description

Can you imagine being completely comfortable giving and receiving touch?

Come spend the day with like-minded people discussing and practising a series of carefully-designed exercises based around connection and touch. This is a space where you can reclaim, deepen and redefine intimacy towards yourself and others.

"Intimacy Jam is a pants-on workshop exploring non-sexual, but highly intimate, human contact."

Come by yourself, with your friend/s, lover/s or partner/s. Leave feeling more connected, empowered, and with practises to continue at home with your friends or lovers. Intimacy Jam is a pants-on workshop exploring non-sexual, but highly intimate, human contact.

You will explore:
★ Finding out what you want, what your boundaries are, and how to communicate them
★ Becoming comfortable with talking about intimacy and sexuality
★ Building trust and showing vulnerability
★ Becoming comfortable with touch - how to touch and experience pleasure

To keep the dialogue and exchange going, you will be invited to join a closed Facebook group after the workshop to continue sharing knowledge, resources, and practises with each other.

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATORS

Juliane Mueller

I’m a facilitator of transformational spaces, community activist and artist. Sexual liberation is at the heart of individual transformation, without which there can be no meaningful societal progress. To this end, I have co-founded Sex Club, a conversational and experiential group space to normalise talking about sex and its nuances, to share knowledge and experiences, and to redefine sexuality as a spectrum. I am an experienced space holder, having co-founded an intentional community in London and received training in non-violent communication, co-counselling and mindfulness-based resilience.

My artistic and personal enquiry is the authentic expression of self through creativity, intellect, emotion and sexuality. I consult on collective experience design at festivals, transformational co-created events and artist residencies. I spent 10 years in the corporate tech industry before my calling into the nonprofit sector and I remembered that I'm an artist, as we all are.

Conor Cregg
Conor is a psychologist and has trained in holistic counselling. He has been hosting Sex Club and leading men's work for a number of years. He works as a coach, facilitator in corporate environments and recently has been delivering retreats training yoga teachers here and in India to bring inquiry and process work into their yoga practice.

WHY INTIMACY JAM?
Our culture today doesn't provide for our innate need for intimacy. Within this couples today must provide much more for each other's emotional needs - needs which the larger community used to furnish. Intimacy involves both emotional and physical closeness and openness, but we often confuse the two and end up feeling betrayed or used when, as often happens, we fail to satisfy our need for closeness in sex. A study based on a 40-year follow-up investigation from college through midlife, shows convincingly that throughout our adult years, intimacy is key to our well-being. We all have a need for intimacy, and we all sometimes confuse it with our need for sex. Intimacy can not only be found with partners and lovers but also with oneself, with friends and family.
