The Art of The Attack, for Women Beginners
Everything's going well, you've started the game...now what? How to get from the opening to checkmate? We're about to find out, using ideas you can apply to every position, and some beautiful specific examples.
You will improve your chess knowledge and skill, and have a lot of fun along the way.
Week 1: Defence 101, read 'em and don't weep
Week 2: Batten the hatches, defending territory
Week 3: To defend or not to defence, that is the question - balancing piece defence and activity
Week 4: Sometimes attack is the best form of defence - prophylaxis
Week 5: Pulling it all together and recap. In the attacking challenge, you'll all team up together to beat the teacher using your newfound ninja mojo.
You don't need a chess board, or anything other than an internet connection and a computer, laptop or tablet (a phone is okay, but perhaps a bit small).
You'll receive your joining information at the email address you used to book/pay with, which may not be your main email address - please check).
Any questions at all, please do email Amanda at casualchesscafe@gmail.com - if your questions is, 'Can I do this course if I only know how the pieces move/if I'm going to miss some lessons, if I'm not yet confident about chess?' the answer is, YES, absolutely! :)
