This women-only course is ideal for women (only) who only know how the chess pieces move, up to players with up to about 1600 FIDE rating (if you don't what that means, this course is for you!).

The course consists of 10 sessions – 5 interactive, practical lessons and 5 (optional) practice sessions. There will also be an (optional) social events, written notes and lessons are available as catch up videos throughout the course. You'll be joining an awesome, diverse community of amazing, friendly women who also meet online weekly to play chess and chat.

Cheeky Checkmates for Women Beginners

We will be looking at how to checkmate with the different combinations of chess pieces, in fun, interactive lessons which will keep you involved and engaged.

You will improve your chess knowledge and skill, and have a lot of fun along the way.

Week 1: Rook around the clock - connecting and checkmating with two rooks

Week 2: Queen of the checkmate - but can she do it alone?

Week 3: Shear bishopry - scissoring the board with bishop checkmates

Week 4: Checkmating with knights - and their friends

Week 5: Finishing! Getting to that satisfying final checkmate

You don't need a chess board, or anything other than an internet connection and a computer, laptop or tablet (a phone is okay, but perhaps a bit small).
