Join us for Art, Sisterhood, & Therapy, an open conversation with licensed therapists that highlights the transformative power of art in promoting wellness and healing for Black women, led by dr. nick alder, creative coach, community building + psychologist and Michelle Brown, LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This conversation explores the ways in which Black women therapists are creating safe and inclusive spaces for individuals to engage in art therapy, a practice that combines traditional therapy techniques with the creation of art, digitally and in-person.
This talk focuses on the importance of representation in the mental health field and how Black women therapists are actively prioritizing the unique needs of their communities. By providing a platform for attendees to engage in a variety of art forms, such as painting, dancing, digital design, and more, Art, Sisterhood, & Therapy aims to highlight the benefits of creative expression in cultivating emotional well-being and resilience. k women while also fostering connection and community among attendees.
In observance of Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, Therapy for Black Girls and the Holding Space Foundation are teaming up to delve into the ways in which Black women of various generations connect, foster friendships, and evolve together through our campaign, Generations of Sisterhood.
