The Reception 2026: The Happily Ever After Party

The Reception: The Happily Ever After Party is all the best parts of a wedding reception. A night of champagne toasts, live music, a packed dance floor, mini-honeymoon giveaway, silent auction, and late-night bites, all organized by a group of passionate community members who wanted to raise real money for a cause worth celebrating.

Last year, in its very first year, guests, sponsors, and community leaders showed up in a big way for a brand new event, and together we raised $25,000 for Barrie Families Unite's Doors to Dignity campaign.

This year, we're back, and we're celebrating in support of Barrie Families Unite once again. Since last year's event, BFU opened the Give Back Rack, a community thrift store where families can shop with dignity of choice, and this year's Reception helps fund its continued growth along with the programs BFU offers across Barrie.

Taking the stage this year is The OffCuts, a high-energy four-piece rock band out of Muskoka covering hits spanning six decades, with a particular love for 90s music. Bring your partner, your friends, or your whole work crew, and expect a dance floor that stays full all night.

Dress up. Yes, even that gown hiding in your closet. Doors open at 7pm on November 27, 2026, at the Southshore Centre in Barrie.
