Are you a young person aged 11-18 living with sickle cell disorder? Join us for the Wellness Cooking Club!

Come along to our Wellness Cooking Club for an interactive and hands-on session exploring how food and nutrition can support wellbeing when living with sickle cell disorder. Designed specifically with young people in mind, this is a unique opportunity to learn from a leading expert on sickle cell nutrition.

You’ll start with an engaging workshop led by Dr Claudine Matthews, Consultant Dietician. You’ll learn more about the role of food and nutrition in sickle cell disorder, pick up practical tips and have the chance to ask questions.

Then it’s time to get cooking!

Put what you’ve learned into practice in a hands-on cooking class, where you’ll develop your cooking skills and prepare a nutritious and delicious meal which you can take home or eat at the venue!  St Luke's Community Centre has a fully equipped kitchen which provides an opportunity for hands-on learning in a light-filled and modern environment. The class will be led by two experienced chefs, one of whom is a young person with sickle cell disorder.

Whether you already love cooking or are just getting started, this is a chance to learn something new, meet other young people with sickle cell and have fun along the way. There are a limited number of places, so get booking ASAP!
