What we actually do…
Gentle Mindful Movement
We start bringing our attention onto our bodies with simple mobilisations and stretches, synchronising with the breath. This relaxes our bodies and helps get us into the present.
Simple percussion games
These games engage our minds & creative, playful sides. They are fun & connecting - we create a rhythm together in a light hearted way & generally end up smiling at each other.
Making rhythms together is such an ancient practice. For tens of thousands of years we’ve stomped. chanted, sang, and used percussion to unify our actions and feel part of a greater whole. To be in sync with each other.
Simple chants or songs
Singing is a great way to uplift our spirits. There’s lots of science demonstrating the benefits of singing together. It can calm our nervous systems by naturally lengthening our out breath, stimulating the vagus nerve and providing another way for us to synchronise with a group.
This is an optional activity, for those who are comfortable singing (or willing to give it a go!)
Relaxing Singing Bowls
We are bathed in the beautiful sounds of Tibetan bowls. These richly harmonic, long sustaining sounds can lead us into a mindful, calm state. People often report that their minds are naturally captivated by the sounds, thus bringing attention away from any worries or difficult thoughts and into the present.
Tickets £15 or £8 concessions (children over 8 can attend with an adult).
Drums and percussion provided or feel free to bring your own hand drums.
